Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service govern the relationship between you (the user) and Subtitle Tools (the service provider). Use of any service offered on Subtitle Tools constitutes full acceptance of these terms.

You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

2. Service description

Subtitle Tools offers the following digital services:

• SRT Translation — translation of subtitle files into 25 languages via AI (uses credits).
• Subtitle extraction — extraction of text subtitles from video files (free).
• Audio/video transcription — generating subtitles from audio using Whisper AI (free).
• Converter — conversion between subtitle formats (free).

Services are provided "as is". We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue any service without prior notice.

3. User account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account activity.
• Each person may hold only one account. Multiple accounts are prohibited.
• Information provided at registration must be accurate and up to date.
• You cannot transfer your account or credits to another user.
• Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Credits & payments

• 1 credit = 1 complete translation, regardless of file size.
• On registration you receive 1 free credit for translation but the free options are not active. To activate the free options, a credit package must be purchased.
• Additional credits are purchased through PayPal.
• Credits do not expire and are non-refundable, except when translation fails due to a system defect.
• If translation fails due to our fault, the credit is automatically refunded.
• Prices may be changed with 30 days prior notice.

5. Acceptable use

By using the service, you agree not to:

• Upload illegal, unauthorized copyrighted, obscene or harmful content.
• Use the service for translating or distributing pirated content.
• Abuse the system by creating multiple accounts to obtain free credits.
• Attempt to access or disrupt our systems, servers or networks.
• Use the service in an automated manner (scraping, bots) without our written consent.
• Sell or distribute access to your account.

Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension or deletion, without credit refund.

6. Intellectual property

• Files you upload remain your property. We claim no rights over your content.
• You are responsible for respecting the copyright of files you process.
• The Subtitle Tools platform, source code, design and editorial content are our property and are protected by copyright law.
• You may not copy, distribute or create derivative works from our platform without written consent.

7. Limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

• We do not guarantee that the service will be available uninterrupted or error-free.
• We are not responsible for the quality of AI translations — these may contain errors and do not replace professional human translations.
• We are not responsible for the loss of your files as a result of technical failures.
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the last 3 months.

8. Availability

We strive to keep the service available 24/7, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Planned maintenance interruptions will be announced in advance on the site.

We are not responsible for interruptions caused by third parties (internet providers, OpenAI, PayPal etc.).

9. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time from account settings or by contacting support.
• We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, without prior notice.
• Upon account deletion, all personal data and associated files will be deleted within 30 days.
• Unused credits are non-refundable upon voluntary account deletion.

10. Terms changes

We may modify these terms at any time. Significant changes will be communicated by email at least 14 days before taking effect.

Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the changes.
